Farm Tour at The Growing Experience and Bill Pickett Expo at the Autry Museum of the America West 

(This day inclues TWO seperate stops)

Friday, July 19, 2024 from 8:00AM-5:30PM

Attendees are to meet in the parking of NHS / Center of Sustainable  Communities, 1051 Rosecrans Avenue, Compton, CA 90222

• Tour bus load in: 8:00 A.M. 
• Bus departure: 8:30 A.M.

1st Stop: 

Where: Carmelitos Community Garden, 750 Via Carmelitos, Long Beach 90805 where  we will be touring The Growing Experience and the M.A.Y.E. Center. 

• This Urban farm is about 8 acres with over 300 fruit trees with an aquaponic system and 60 raised bed garden plots.
• The Growing Experience Farm tour visit ends and bus load in: 11:15 A.M.
• Bus departure: 11:30 A.M.

2nd Stop:

Where: Autry Museum of the American West in Griffith Park, 4700 Western Heritage  Way, Los Angeles 90027 

• Bill Pickett Invitational Rodeo Foundation is hosting an Agriculture and Conservation Festivatl to celebrate the 40th anniversary
• The Autry Museum of the America West visit ends and bus load in: 3:15 P.M.
• Bus departure: 3:30 P.M. arriving back in Compton by 4:30 or 5:30.
